Action alone is not sufficient. Being busy "solving" the AIDS "problem" will not bring us very far. It is when we reflect on what we have achieved, what we know and what strengths we have that we can build on a strong foundation to respond to HIV/AIDS.

Comments:
In multilateral organizations, the need for objective results (through the "result-oriented" programmes)requested by the donor community, is producing the same type of distorsion. Very limited amount of time is devoted to reflect on what we have done, on what we could learn. And no time is devoted to what the others are doing and how we can learn from them.
Beside the usual lip-service on learning, we do not have any strategy for learning in an effective way.
Even in "thinking" the emphasis is put on production, not on the reflection.
